We know that taking the leap into postgraduate study can be a daunting process. That’s why we’ve created a step-by-step guide for our online application process, from start to finish.

They're here to guide you through the application process, as well as answer any questions you have - whether they're about modules, balancing work and study, or career outcomes.
Once you’ve spoken to an enrolment advisor, we’ll ask you to apply for your course of choice through King’s Apply, our official enrolment platform. You'll need to create an account, add your personal details, and upload all the documentation requested.
To submit your application, you’ll be required to pay a non-refundable processing fee of £75.
Once you’ve paid this fee, you’ll be able to send us your application. We recommend applying as soon as possible to secure your place.

If all goes well with your application, you’ll receive an official Enrolment Offer through the King’s Apply platform. You’ll also be notified about your offer via email. You’ll then need to formally accept your offer. Once you’ve done this, you’ll be enrolled on to the next intake for the course.
Paying your deposit is your first official commitment to the course. Once you’ve paid it, your place on the course is confirmed.

Not all courses require references, so we recommend checking the entry requirements for your course of choice. If your course does require a referee, it should be either a professional or an academic contact. If you are unsure about who to list, our advisor team can provide tailored advice on a suitable reference contact.
We’ll ask for a few different document types to move your application forward, so please keep the following to hand:
- your degree certificate and transcript.
- English language proficiency certificates (if international)
- proof of any postgraduate qualifications or awards
- a passport photograph of you
The initial step of speaking with our adviser team is a quick process – you can schedule your first call for a time that’s convenient for you.
Completing your application shouldn’t take too long either, but it’s important to put enough time and effort into making a great first impression.
Once you’ve submitted your application, the King’s Apply team will review it and give you a response within five working days. From the consultation call to an offer being made, the entire process takes approximately two weeks.
After careful consideration, we have taken the decision not to allow any deferrals for our postgraduate taught programmes from the 2023/24 or 2024/25 academic year to future academic years. Please see the Postgraduate Offer Holders page on the main King's website for more guidance about deferrals.
