My name is Doctor Penny Simpson. I'm the program director of the Global HRM Programme. I'm very proud to be a King's Alumni myself.
I did my doctorate at King's. So working out in HR, then became an academic. So I've been working in academia for, many years now and I bring my working experience into my role as a Programme Director. I'm very pleased to be the Programme Director of the Global HRM Programme here at King's.
My name is Eva and, I'm currently enrolled in the, King's online global finance banking program.
I'm an entrepreneur based in the Middle East, and I, manage a software distribution business.
And, I have a previous diploma in, finance, and I joined the King's program in order to, obtain more in-depth knowledge that the diploma could provide for me, on a greater variety of subjects.
To To be honest, without it, I wouldn't be able to study a full time master's, without this opportunity. So it's it's it's great. And as long as the proper planning is done and as long as you do allocate, well, let's say approximately three hours each day and six hours over the weekends to the studies, you will do great.
Well, just to really echo what Eva just said, it is a master's level program.
So it it does take commitment, and it does take organization and and time management. But what we try to do is, is we have very structured, times. So with with the global HRM, there will be webinars that we would like you to be attending, which is, an hour and a half every two weeks for for a module, and you have two modules running parallel.
So each week, you have a session where you're expected to be online, ideally. So you meet your colleagues and work with your colleagues in an online, you so you're there at the same time. But the rest of the time, it's about you managing your work and you're going online, doing the activities, doing the reading in your own time. So this allows, learners to be flexible with their full time work commitment to then, manage their own studies alongside this.
You can check recordings also for old webinars and additional material.
And also, sometimes, the professors upload additional content, which is not covered during the lecture. For example, some master classes on how to use statistical software, which we can also review, and this is sort of an additional help for, our course. So for example, the more quantitative, modules such as quantitative methods for finance, We have a a lot of material, to help us in king's.
We don't feel disconnected from each other. So, we can also meet in person. We can talk all the time. We can discuss, the most recent subjects or get advice from each other, which I think is hugely helpful.
Yeah. No. I just I would just encourage people to really be aware of, you know, what different forums there are and, you know, for example, when the webinars are and really try to attend the webinars because the webinars is where you get to kind of meet people virtually.
So for example, this type of event, it would be very different. It was prerecorded and you just sort of watched us as opposed to actually being part of this event here now. Mhmm. So, you know, try to take advantage of these opportunities. But we throughout all the courses, all the courses will have set up opportunities to chat with each other virtually for group work together. So I would encourage you to get to know your your, you know, your your colleagues, who'll be studying with you because they will be around the world.
You know, that's the nature of, you know, modern business. We are working around the world. And and for those students and those learners who've chosen online studies, they've chosen it for a reason. And, and it's, it's getting to know each other. We, we will, you know, work as a community, as the tutors, the tutors will work to, you know, strengthen your online learning community, but just really take advantage of all those opportunities that that will be there for you.
